2007 AVRI I American Vintage Reissue One Black Jazzmaster
This 2007 Fender American Vintage ’62 Jazzmaster is a remarkably clean, all-original example in Black, with its original brown Fender hardshell case and an unusually complete assortment of original case candy.
Built in the USA as part of Fender’s American Vintage Reissue series, the AVRI ’62 Jazzmaster was designed as a close recreation of an early-1960s Jazzmaster. It features an alder body with nitrocellulose lacquer finish, maple neck, 7.25" radius rosewood fingerboard, 21 vintage-style frets, 25.5" scale length, two American Vintage Jazzmaster single-coil pickups, traditional lead and rhythm circuits, and Fender’s floating bridge and locking tremolo system.
This example remains completely original and has seen very little playing time. Overall condition is near excellent, with the primary cosmetic wear consisting of several light scratches and small marks along the lower rear edge of the body, shown clearly in the photographs. Otherwise, the finish, hardware, plastics, electronics, and neck present exceptionally well for a guitar approaching twenty years old.
The guitar also has an interesting piece of provenance: it was given as a record-label gift by Dangerbird Records in connection with Darker My Love. It appears to have spent most of its life carefully stored rather than heavily played, which is consistent with its unusually clean condition.
The original brown Fender hardshell case is included, along with the original cable and extensive factory case candy and accessories.
The Black finish with tortoiseshell guard is a particularly classic Jazzmaster combination. This example does not have a matching painted headstock, but otherwise presents as an unusually complete and well-preserved AVRI from the period.
