A distinctive boutique take on the classic S-style guitar, this 2020 Constantin Sweetcaster combines familiar Strat-style ergonomics with semi-hollow construction, a traditional tremolo, and a set of Suhr single-coil pickups.
Built in Germany, Constantin guitars are known for small-production, vintage-inspired instruments with premium components, aged finishes, and a strong emphasis on feel and playability. This “Sweetcaster” has an especially striking look, with a lightly aged/reliced pale blue finish, tortoiseshell pickguard, rosewood fingerboard, chambered body, and single f-hole.
The Suhr pickups deliver a clear, articulate S-style voice with excellent dynamics and definition. Combined with the semi-hollow body, this makes for a guitar that feels familiar but has a little more openness and character than a conventional solid-body Strat-style instrument.
The aged finish and hardware give the guitar a broken-in appearance without sacrificing the feel of a high-end boutique build. It is a distinctive instrument for someone looking for something outside the usual Fender-style options.
